A bit about me…

Hi everyone!

So happy to be joining the Aussie Owned and Read crew. It’s one of my fave blogs to visit so there was no hesitation when I was asked to join. I love YA and I’m Aussie through and through so it seems a pretty great match. I love the idea of a group blog – the combined energy of a group of people all bringing different expertise and experience to the group but all with the passion for books.

I write YA and NA and am torn between sci-fi and contemporary.  Fake is out in Australia with Harlequin Australia and is about a girl with the perfect plan for online revenge who finds her solution getting all out of control. Lifer is my sci-fi and it’s tagline is ‘one slave girl will lead a rebellion and one nameless boy will discover the truth.’ It’s out with Month9 Books in the US.

I love reading all kinds of books with some faves including Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Magician and If I Stay. There are millions more I adore but it would take too long to list.

I’m from lovely South Australia where I live with hubby and kids and dogs and spend most of my free time writing or reading. Except for when I run – but that is purely a means to the end of regulating my chocolate addiction somewhat (in case you’re wondering I’m particularly partial to popping candy chocolate with jelly baby things and beanies in it – a refined choice).

Anyway, that’s enough about me. I’d much rather talk about books.

I always wanted to write. I’ve worked as a lab assistant, a pizza delivery driver and a high school teacher but I always pursued my first dream of creating stories. Now, I live with my family near Adelaide, halfway between the city and the sea, and am lucky to spend my days (and nights) writing young adult fiction.

  1. Hey Beck! Congratulations on joining the AO&R team! It is one of my fave blogs as well – a must read and I’ve picked up fabulous reads and new authors here. Looking forward to reading FAKE and look forward to seeing you on the blog.

  2. Hmmn – not sure why my profile name has changed? Anyway – that was me: Kaz Delaney. Sigh… Technology. With my last breath I’ll be saying – ‘no wait! I have to check my settings!’ Good luck with it all, honey
