Flash Fiction Competition

Hi guys! Katie here.

So, each month we will be holding a competition of some kind so that you, our readers, have a chance to participate in some fun and win something from us!

Today, it’s flash fiction. If you’ve never done this before, it’s nice and simple and tonnes of fun. All you need to do is use the picture prompt which I will give below and write a 500 word story based on it. You can go wherever the wind takes you, you just need to use the picture.

Then, post it on your blog, or if you don’t have one borrow a friend’s blog and leave the link to the post in the comments below. Please do not comment unless you’re leaving a link. You have until 6pm Sunday 3rd March Sydney time/Sat 2nd 11:59 MST US/Sun 3rd 2am EST US to post. (I hope all that made sense…) On Monday the winners will be chosen!

What’s up for grabs –

A query and 1st page critique from Me, Katie

Emily will give a 1st page critique

Lauren will give an entry critique

First 5 pages edit of your MS from Cassandra!

And the most popular one among the Aussie Owned and Read crew will be featured in the winner’s post.

So, with no further ado here’s the picture:

Ha ha ha!!! I’m totally kidding! Don’t use that! Really, please don’t. Here’s the real one:

Okay, that’s more like it right? So let’s get this show on the road. (no pun intended…herm) Get writing, get posting, and give me a hard time picking! I’ll announce the winners. Note: I live in the US so it will go up by Monday evening MST, so Tues afternoon in Aus. I really hope my time explanations make sense to everyone.

Good Luck!
