G’day mate…
Ok, that sounds very Aussie, and I don’t usually talk like that. I’m more inclined to say, “Hey, how’s it going?”
Anyway, my name is Kim, and I’m absolutely no good at introducing myself, so I thought I’d do an interview instead. I’ve been known to talk to myself on occasion, so this should be a piece of cake.
Hi Kim, where are you from? Ok, I was born in a place in WA called Subiaco, and I spent the first eight years of my life living in a little place called Kelmscott. There was a year and half overseas thrown in there, too. Then I moved to Sydney with my parents and older brother, leaving behind my Italian family (on my father’s side), and a good chunk of the population of Geraldton (on my mother’s side).
Family? One wonderful husband, two little rug rats, some gold fish, and a rabbit named Twitch.
What brings you to Aussie Owned and Read? Well, one day on Facebook I saw a post from a lovely person by the name of Sharon calling for contributors to this wonderful new blog, and I thought, “That would be fun”. I’m addicted to anything YA. I love to read it, and write about it, and I love to talk, so it’s a perfect match really.
Do you have any specific qualifications? Hmmm, that depends on what you want me to be qualified for. I’m a graphic designer, so when it comes to the way things look, yes. I’ve spent most of my career in publishing, but ended up falling out of it since having my two children. In terms of writing, I have no formal training, but it hasn’t stopped me. I’ve just recently self-published my first novel, Fall For Me, which is available on Amazon for Kindle and in paperback. I designed and formatted my own book, and I loved doing it, so I’d really like to explore book design further.
If you were an Aussie icon, what would it be? Because I was born in WA and it’s the state emblem, I would have to go with the Black Swan. When I was younger I was a bit of an ugly duckling and I didn’t really fit in. Now I’m older, I’ve found my place in the world and I’m on a great path. In my head I like to think that I’m sleek and graceful when in reality I’m a klutz, but shhh, don’t tell anyone.

Where can we find you on the web?
I hang out on Facebook a bit. Or you can find me on twitter. I’ve also been known to blog once in a while. Oh, and I have a Goodreads profile.
Don’t forget to click the link to enter the giveaway, and good luck!

I’ve only known you as K. A. Last until now. It’s nice to know your first name Kim.
I am excited for this collective blog and what it will have to offer. I am also from a big Italian family on my dad’s side. I am half Italian but I look like my mom’s side more. Good luck with your Fall For Me tour starting on Friday!
Thanks Rebekah! I’m also half Italian, but I look like my Aussie mum. My brother got the olive skin and nice curly hair. I’m excited about the tour and really looking forward to it
